History Of Christ's Loving Hands

Loving And Serving Harrison Since 1997

Our Mission: To Love and Serve the Harrison Area in Christ's Name

Our Vision: Be the first organization people think of when they need assistance or want to help in the Community

Scroll through one continuous story to see how Christ's Loving Hands has grown from a single pantry effort into a coordinated ministry of food, financial support, and relationship-centered care.

Origins

1990

Helping Hands Food Pantry Begins

    1990

Wes starts a pantry ministry at Miami Whitewater UMC.

Misuse exposed a gap: ministries needed to coordinate, not compete.

1997 marks the formal beginning of today's ministry line.

Oversight helped churches protect aid while still meeting real needs.

Christ's Loving Hands becomes the independent local ministry.

The ministry shifted from maintenance mode into a scalable growth model.

Serving Saturdays established a monthly community service cadence.

Loads of Love expanded CLH's practical care for families.

2025 data reflects major growth in both service and stewardship.

A dedicated CLH building and unified service network is the next major chapter.

    Our Dream For The Future

Our next chapter is a permanent CLH home: a space that unifies food assistance, strengthens accountability in financial help, and creates a trusted community hub for long-term impact.

    • Own building to unify food assistance instead of borrowing space around the community.
    • Financial assistance with accountability, consistency, and stability.
    • Serving network infrastructure that connects needs with people ready to meet them.
    • Deep church integration and a true community hub model.
    • Long-term financial sustainability through diverse income sources.
    • Maintain and build a reputation of trust and professionalism.
Vision rendering of a future Christ's Loving Hands facility

The goal is a unified, Christ-centered system of care where families are supported with dignity and the whole community can participate in lasting change.
